  • Chico’s partners with HelloWorld for charity promo

    Fort Myers, Fla. - Chico’s FAS is launching a digital charitable giving campaign powered by HelloWorld. The campaign features a Facebook-integrated microsite and a mobile optimized site that allows consumers to upload a photo and treat it with pink coloring and the hashtag #TOGETHER in honor of Breast Health Awareness Month.

  • YCD Multimedia appoints new CEO

    YCD Multimedia, a provider of professional digital signage software solutions, has promoted Sam Losar, currently its president of US operations, to CEO.
     
    Assuming CEO responsibility from company co-founder Noam Levavi, Losar will be trusted with continuing to expand the growth he achieved in the Americas to its business operations in Europe and Asia.

    Noam Levavi co-founded the company in 1999 in Israel and led it for more than a decade.

  • Pitney Bowes survey: 49% of Americans shopping online earlier for holiday

    Stamford, Conn. -- Half of Americans (49%) plan to shop online earlier for gifts this holiday season, with the main reason being to ensure they receive their packages on time (63%), according to a survey by Pitney Bowes.

  • Changes in leadership team at Clorox

    The Clorox Company has promoted Nick Vlahos, currently SVP and chief customer officer, to EVP and chief operating officer of household, lifestyle and core global functions, a position previously held by retiring EVP-COO George Roeth.

    In this role, Vlahos will have responsibility for the charcoal, Glad, cat litter, food, Brita and Burt's Bees business operating units. He will also have responsibility for the company's marketing, sales, product supply and research and development functions.

  • PayPal and BitPay announce Bitcoin integration

    PayPal is further expanding its relationship with payment service provider BitPay, which specializes in e-commerce, B2B and enterprise solutions for the bitcoin digital currency. The first joint project is an integration with PayPal’s Payments Hub, which is PayPal’s alternative payment platform for digital goods.
     

  • Tyco integrates RetailNext in-store analytics

    Neuhausen, Switzerland - Tyco Retail Solutions has integrated its traffic intelligence solution with RetailNext, a provider of Big Data solutions enabling retailers to monitor, analyze, and act upon shopper behavior within the store environment. This combination, which leverages Tyco's multi-sensor portfolio of traffic devices and RetailNext's in-store analytics platform, enables retailers to capture and interpret key metrics to optimize their store operations and drive sales.

  • Ascena Retail banks on omnichannel following ‘mixed’ Q4 results

    Following fourth quarter results that missed Wall Street expectations, Ascena Retail is looking ahead to fiscal 2015, which CEO David Jaffe said will see the continuation of a critical, multi-year investment to build the company’s omnichannel platform.

    The company reported net earnings of $15.7 million, compared with $29.8 million in the year-ago period.

  • Alco swings to Q2 loss on expenses

    Coppell, Texas – An increase in selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses driven by growing costs of advertising, new stores and store support helped Alco Stores Inc. swing to a net loss of $7 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2014 from net earnings of $800,000 a year earlier.

    Net sales dropped 6% to $110.7 million, from $117.7 million. Same-store sales declined 8.9%.
