Stores are staffed with teaching professionals and have multiple state-of-the-art swing simulators, practice hitting bays and large putting greens. There is also an in-house club-making and repair facility.

  • Walgreens makes a lucrative deal with Western Union

    Walgreens has teamed up with Western Union on an initiative that may generate the drugstore chain a lot more traffic and sales.

    The nation’s largest drugstore chain has launched Western Union Bill Payment services via digital self-service kiosks, allowing customers to make payments to 15,000 billers across the United States and beyond.

  • Study: Payment card issuers throw in their chips

    As the Oct. 1 fraud liability shift for EMV-compliant chip cards looms, payment card issuers appear ready for the change.

    According to a new study from the electronic payments industry group Payment Security Task Force (PST), the eight financial institutions that belong to the PST reported that 30% of their U.S. consumer credit and debit cards contain EMV chips as of June 30.

    One of the best ways retailers can make both their financial data and store systems more secure is to reduce potential vulnerability by removing financial data from the store.

    “Take any credit card data out of your store systems,” advised Perry Kramer, VP and practice lead for Boston Retail Partners. “Most retailers don’t know what’s on their systems or their risk profile. You need a good inventory. Some data you might keep.”

  • Study reveals online shoppers’ pet peeves

    A new consumer survey from e-gift software provider Loop Commerce reveals some common reasons why consumers are hesitant to buy gifts online.

    The survey shows that one in four (25%) respondents cited worrying about buying the wrong size, while another roughly one in four (24%) respondents cited worrying about the hassle of returns as the most common reasons they hesitate to buy gifts online. Nearly one in five (18%) respondents cited concern about getting their gift to the recipient on time.
