ODP, NASCAR auction to raise money for BTS charity
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Office Depot will auction off items worn by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart to raise money for the Office Depot's National Backpack Program.
Through Sept. 14, fans can bid on an autographed firesuit and helmet worn by Stewart, driver of the No. 14I Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The auction is accessible via www.OfficeDepotRacing.com.
“It was a lot of fun having a cool back-to-school paint scheme on my No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevy at Pocono and I’m very proud to again partner with the Office Depot Foundation on its National Backpack Program,” said Stewar. “Helping the Office Depot Foundation donate sackpacks to kids in need is such a rewarding experience – nothing beats seeing a big smile on their faces after giving them a new sackpack. I hope fans will get behind this great program and show their support by participating in the online charity auction.”
For the fourth consecutive year, Stewart is partnering with the Office Depot Foundation to support its National Backpack Program, which is donating 400,000 sackpacks throughout the 2012 back-to-school season – the most given out in a single year. By the end of this year, the National Backpack Program will have helped more than 2.9 million kids worldwide since 2001.
The Tony Stewart Foundation will support the auction by utilizing its eBay Giving Works account as the bidding platform.
