Books-A-Million wants more summer readers

5/6/2015

Books-A-Million is getting an early start on summer reading promotions with a giveaway tied to a popular book series.

Now through Aug. 8, the retailer will offer a reading list of more than 75 popular books for both kids and teens at all Books-A-Million stores or by visiting Summer Quest Reading Ambassador online. The bookseller will be giving away a Camp Half-Blood tote bag celebrating the 10th anniversary of the popular “Percy Jackson & The Olympians” book series by Rick Riordan. To be eligible for the giveaway, participants must read four books from the reading list and return the completed list to a Books-A-Million store.

"I’m honored and excited to be Books-a-Million’s Summer Quest Reading Program Ambassador for 2015!” said Rick Riordan. “Summer is a great time to make new friends, explore new places, have thrilling adventures and become a hero — and all you have to do is open a good book!”

Not only will the reading list feature Rick Riordan’s “Heroes of Olympus” and “The Kane Chronicles” book series, but young readers will be able to choose from over 75 books from many popular authors. With titles like “Peter and the Starcatchers” by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, “The Secret Series” by Pseudonymous Bosch and “Kingdom Keepers” from Ridley Pearson, young readers are certain to find one of their favorites or discover a new adventure.

Books-A-Million will also make available exclusive merchandise from the popular book series, including 10 pairs of wayfarer sunglasses, 20 camp bumper stickers, an activity poster and more while supplies last.

Books-A-Million Inc. operates 257 stores in 32 states and the District of Columbia.
