  • Deloitte: Consumers abandon national CPG brands

    New York - Consumers are continuing to abandon national food, beverage and household brands. According to Deloitte's annual American Pantry Study of more than 354 brands across 34 product categories, nearly three in four (73%) consumer packaged goods (CPG) categories show an overall decline in their brands' "must-have" status, meaning that shoppers would purchase whether on sale or not.

  • Nordstrom Rack coming to Hawaii development

    Seattle – Nordstrom Inc. plans to open Nordstrom Rack at Waikiki Trade Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. The approximately 34,000-sq.-ft., two-level store is scheduled to open in spring 2016.

    The property was acquired by Coastwood Capital Group, LLC in late 2013.

  • Wayfair plays a different marketing tune

    Fast growing Internet retailer Wayfair is debuting its latest innovative marketing campaign by way of a song.

    The company has partnered with country singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe and premiered her new song, Bombshell, on Wayfair.com, as well as the makeover of the singer's writer's room.

    Wayfair teamed up with both Monroe and interior designer, Brad Ramsey, on the redesign of her Nashville-based writer’s room—an inspiring and creative space featuring a variety of Wayfair products.

  • Three Takeaways from CVS Health’s Digital Innovation Lab

    Last week, my retail technology-related travels took me closer to home than usual – to Boston, the city where I was born and still live within a reasonable drive. I visited the old homestead to attend the official opening of the CVS Health’s new Digital Innovation Lab. CVS officials did a fine job explaining the mission of the lab and giving the audience a sneak peek at some of their work.
