A tech-focused e-tailer is taking Prime Day head-on with its own sales extravaganza that begins Oct. 13.
Following in the footsteps of Target, Newegg is kicking off an online discount promotion that directly competes with the rescheduled 2020 version of Amazon Prime Day. Newegg will host “FantasTech: Round 2,” the second installment of its annual FantasTech online sale, from Oct. 13-15. The first installment took place in mid-July, when Newegg traditionally holds FantasTech.
Newegg says the second installment of FantasTech will include deals on technology goods that customers have been purchasing during the COVID-19 pandemic, including products for remote working and learning and home entertainment items. The e-tailer also hosted pre-pandemic special online sales promotions in February and January of this year.
“2020 has been a year like no other, which is why we are breaking with tradition and doubling down on our annual FantasTech sale,” said Anthony Chow, Global CEO of Newegg. “Demand for technology products is strong, so we’re responding to that demand with discounts and promotions to make it easier than ever for our customers to purchase products to enrich their lives during these unprecedented times.”
