  • GameStop advances digital strategy with two acquisitions

    Grapevine, Texas -- GameStop Corp. announced the acquisition of Spawn Labs, a streaming technology company.

    In addition, GameStop announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase Impulse, a subsidiary of Stardock Systems, and a leader in digital distribution. The Impulse acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in May.

  • Panasonic takes new products on tour

    SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Panasonic announced that it is giving consumers the chance to experience its 2011 line-up of home entertainment products during its six-week, 15-market "Panasonic Experience Amazing Tour."

    The tour starts April 4 in New York and will make stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, DC over the next five weeks, through May 15.  

  • Sony brings a new experience to L.A.

    LOS ANGELES -- Sony Electronics announced that on April 1 it will open its first newly branded Sony store in the United States at the Westfield Century City Shopping mall in Los Angeles.

  • Ebay thinks local

    SAN FRANCISCO -- Ebay announced that it has added a new feature to Ebay.com that will allow shoppers to check product and merchandise availability at local retailers. The feature is made possible through Ebay's partnership with Milo, the leading local shopping engine that Ebay acquired last year.

  • Gap sees opportunity in China

    HANGZHOU, China -- Gap Inc. is expanding its presence in China. The company announced that it has opened an online Gap store (gap.tmall.com) on Taobao Mall, the business-to-consumer platform within Taobao, China’s largest retail website. Gap's Taobao Mall store will offer a wide selection of stylish products from Gap, GapKids and baby gap, the company reported.

    San Francisco -- Gap said Wednesday it has opened an online store on China’s largest retail website.

    Gap's Taobao Mall store, gap.tmall.com, will offer items from Gap, GapKids and baby gap.
