  • Electronics e-retailer to pop up in Calif. shopping center

    CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — Newegg Inc., a leading electronics-focused e-retailer, is getting set to open its first-ever popup store from August 16-18 in The Oaks shopping center in Thousand Oaks, Calif. 

    Newegg's exclusive store event will feature more than 70 products for showrooming, including Intel-inspired Ultrabooks, 4th generation Intel Core i7 laptops, Sony VAIO laptops, tablets, digital cameras and wireless speakers, Samsung tablets and solid-state drives and WD hard drives and personal cloud storage devices.

  • Meijer expands digital coupon initiative

    Grand Rapids, Mich. -- Meijer is expanding its mPerks digital coupon program to include pharmacy purchases, allowing customers to earn $10 off their total shopping purchase, 5% off total grocery and health-and-beauty purchases or 50 cents off per gallon of Meijer gas for every five eligible prescriptions filled. Customers can also hang onto their rewards and keep filling prescriptions to earn double rewards, saving as much as $1 per gallon on gas or $20 off their next shopping visit.

  • Catalog Spree expands men's section of mobile shopping app

    LOS ALTOS, Calif. — Catalog Spree, a personal digital mall that lets consumers browse and shop their favorite catalogs, has expanded the men’s section of its mobile app to include lookbooks featuring Kenneth Cole, Original Penguin, Perry Ellis and Thomas Pink. 

  • Nespresso opens redesigned Boston flagship

    New York -- Nespresso announced the opening of its redesigned Boston flagship. The 2,400-sq.-ft. space is located in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.

  • comScore: Desktop e-commerce spending up 16%

    Reston, Va. -- Desktop-based e-commerce sales totaled $49.8 billion in the U.S. during the second quarter of this year. According to a new report from comScore, this represents an almost 16% increase from about $43.1 billion in the second quarter of the previous year.

    This also marks the 15th consecutive quarter of positive year-over-year growth and 11th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. Mobile commerce spending rose by $4.7 billion, or 24%, during the quarter. Other highlights of comScore’s data include:

  • Walmart.com gives Facebook fans early access to back-to-school sale

    San Bruno, Calif. -- Walmart.com is giving fans of its Facebook page early access to a "Back to Class Cyber Monday" event being held Monday, Aug. 12. Customers will receive online discounts of up to 60% on close to 300 back-to-school items ranging as high as almost 60%, while supplies last. Fans of Wal-Mart’s Facebook page can gain early access to the sale by visiting the page on Sunday, Aug. 11 and clicking a special link.

  • Affinity Solutions names new executives

    Transaction marketing firm Affinity Solutions said it hired Richard Bravman as COO and Gary Starr as CFO to capitalize on new opportunities in the growing world of transaction informed marketing solutions.
