    New York -- SK Planet Inc. is launching its first major mobile app, Styletag, for finding, sharing and buying the current fashion styles. The dynamic, free fashion app will be released Monday, Dec. 9 for iOS 7 (iPad, iPhone and iPod) and on Google Play for Android.

    Target has unveiled a section of its website that features products that are trending on hot social media site Pinterest.

    The Target Awesome Shop is a shoppable catalog that features a curated crop of products from several lines, including beauty, each of which is among those most pinned on Pinterest in the last few days, but only if they have at least a four-star guest review.

  • Mobile commerce platform developer adds four new merchant members

    Giant Eagle, Rite Aid, ExxonMobil and Kum & Go are among the growing number of merchants to become members of the Merchant Customer Exchange’s group, which is made up of leading merchants dedicated to improving the shopping experience by offering consumers a widely accepted, customer-focused and secure mobile commerce platform.

    With these new member additions, more than 50 merchants are now part of MCX, representing more than 100,000 locations and more than $1 trillion in payments annually.

  • First Data: Retail dollar volume growth up 9% over Thanksgiving/Black Friday

    Atlanta -- Year-over-year retail dollar volume growth during Thanksgiving and Black Friday was strong at 9.0%, and a significant increase compared to last year’s growth of 5.6%, according to First Data Corp.’s SpendTrend analysis, which tracks same-store consumer spending by credit, signature debit, PIN debit, EBT, closed-loop prepaid cards and checks at U.S. merchant locations.

  • American Eagle disappoints in Q3, names merchandising exec

    Pittsburgh – American Eagle reported disappointing results for the third quarter of fiscal 2013. Net income plummeted 68% to $24.9 million from $78.6 million, missing Wall Street projections.

    Total net revenue of $857 million decreased 6% compared to $910 million last year. Same-store sales fell 5%.
