  • 3dcart includes MasterPass in commerce offering

    Tamarac, Fla. – 3dcart, a hosted e-commerce provider for small businesses, is launching a partnership with MasterCard for MasterPass, the MasterCard digital payment solution, into its commerce offering. The new service will reach more than 17,000 online stores within the 3dcart network of small business.

    New York -- Consumers are well positioned to make the transition to mobile payments — with a little help from retailers, banks, payment networks and retailers, according to a new report from global consultancy Kurt Salmon.

  • Sur La Table CEO names former Bath & Body Works chief as new CEO

    Seattle -- Kitchenware retailer Sur La Table has appointed industry veteran Diane Neal as its new CEO. She succeeds Jack Schwefel, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities after serving as Sur La Table’s CEO since 2007.

    Neal served as CEO and president of Bath & Body Works from 2007 to 2011. She currently serves on the boards of several retail companies, including Abercrombie & Fitch Co. and Fossil Group Inc. Neal also held leadership positions at Gap and Target.

  • WAG teams up with WebMD to expand presence in digital space

    Walgreens has partnered with WebMD Health for an initiative to help improve health and wellness in America by helping and incenting consumers to make healthier choices at home, work and on-the-go.
     

  • Placeable: Online holiday sales to grow 15%

    Denver - Location marketing provider Placeable is predicting that online sales will grow by more than 15% during the 2014 holiday season, compared to the same period the prior year, more than tripling the anticipated 4%-5% growth rate for overall holiday sales. However, Placeable expects more than 90% of holiday sales to take place in brick-and-mortar stores, with 58% of consumers shopping at a national retailer they normally don’t visit.

  • Christopher & Banks rolling out combined store format to 37 locations

    Minneapolis -- Christopher & Banks announced the Oct. 6 grand opening of 37 stores that reflect the company’s updated retail strategy of bringing its plus-sized CJ Banks brand under the Christopher & Banks banner. The stores combine missy, petite and women's sizes in one shopping location.  

  • Home Depot extends e-commerce capabilities westward

    Home Depot is extending its e-commerce capabilities westward with the opening of a dedicated online fulfillment center in California.

    Located in Perris, California, the 858,953-sq.-ft. facility will initially employ approximately 150 people, and eventually employ up to 300. It is one of three new DFCs opening across the US in addition to the company’s existing network.

    The Locust Grove DFC opened outside of Atlanta, Georgia in February and the Ohio DFC is scheduled to open next year.

  • Walgreens, Western Union launch in-store money transfer service

    Deerfield, Ill. – Walgreens and The Western Union Company have launched international and domestic money transfers through a new Western Union stage and pay kiosk model via the Walgreen’s Balance Financial platform. Customers can send or receive money at more than 7,650 Walgreens and Duane Reade locations in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
