  • Survey: Big jump in perception of risk with m-commerce

    Boise, Idaho -- While the mobile channel continues to grow in importance for retailers, do does their fear of fraudulent attacks and the realization that combating the risk requires specialized tools. Those are some of the findings from the 2nd Annual Mobile Payments and Fraud Survey.

    The study, conducted By Kount, The Fraud Practice LLC and CardNotPresent.com, surveyed more than 1,000 merchants around the globe as well as service providers, card associations and issuers. Notable findings from the study include:

  • Dick's Sporting Goods Q4 profit up 6.9%

    New York -- Dick’s Sporting Goods reported consolidated net income of $138.6 million, for the 13-week period ended Feb. 1. Results also exceeded the company’s performance in last year’s fourth quarter, which had an additional week. For the 14-week period ended Feb. 2, 2013, the company reported consolidated net income of $129.7 million.

  • More bad news for American Eagle Outfitters

    A little more than a month ago, Robert Hanson resigned as CEO of American Eagle Outfitters, following disappointing holiday sales, and caused shares to drop 10%. Shares dropped again, nearly 7% this time, following what the company called “highly disappointing” fourth-quarter results.

  • Bon-Ton seeks new CEO

    Following disappointing fourth-quarter sales, the Bon-Ton Stores president and CEO Brendan L. Hoffman has notified the company’s board of directors that he will not renew his employment agreement with the company when it expires Feb. 7, 2015.

    Hoffman also plans to resign as a director of the company.

  • Winter fails to freeze Dick's Sporting Goods in Q4

    Inclement weather has hurt some retailers’ quarterly sales results, but it has been no match for Dick’s Sporting Goods. The company’s fourth-quarter results exceeded the upper end of guidance range it provided in its third quarter press release.

  • Cardtronics named exclusive ATM services provider for Tedeschi Food Shops

    Houston – Cardtronics, Inc. has expanded its relationship with Tedeschi Food Shops, a Rockland, Mass.-based convenience store company. The broadened agreement names Cardtronics the exclusive ATM services provider for Tedeschi Food Shops. Cardtronics is the world’s largest retail ATM owner.

  • Crate and Barrel selects Visual IQ for cross-channel marketing attribution

    Needham, Mass. – Visual IQ, a cross-channel marketing attribution software provider, announced that it has been selected as the exclusive marketing attribution provider for Crate and Barrel. The brand will deploy the company’s IQ Intelligence Suite to measure and optimize marketing spend across its myriad of online and offline marketing channels.
     

  • LLamasoft taps SVP of international sales

    LLamasoft, a leading global supply chain design software developer, has named Alejandro Nieto as SVP of international sales. Nieto will be responsible for sales in Latin America as well as EMEA and APAC regions.
