  • Restaurant Performance Index slides in December

    Washington, D.C. - As a result of softer same-store sales and customer traffic levels, the National Restaurant Association's Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) registered a moderate decline in December 2013. The RPI, a monthly composite index that tracks the health of and outlook for the U.S. restaurant industry, stood at 100.5 in December, down 0.6% from November and the first decline in three months.  

  • Walgreens brings data analytics to clinics

    Deerfield Park, Ill. – Walgreens is expanding its relationship with Inovalon, Inc. to implement its patient assessment tool and technology platform to support improvements in care, quality and risk score accuracy programs across more than 400 Healthcare Clinics at select Walgreens locations.

  • Hhgregg net income, sales plummet in Q3

    Indianapolis – Hhgregg reported net income of $5 million during the third quarter of fiscal 2014, a 71% drop from $17.4 million in the same period the previous fiscal year. Net sales declined about 12%, from $799.6 million to $707 million.

    Same-store sales decreased about 11%. Hhgregg cited the drop in same-store sales and shrinking gross margins for its steep decline in net income. Dennis May, president and CEO of Hhgregg, blamed poor electronics/computing sales and heavy promotions for the retailer’s overall disappointing performance.

  • Destination Maternity net income rise, sales drop in Q1

    Philadelphia – Destination Maternity reported improved net income but lower net sales during the first quarter of fiscal 2014 as compared to the same period a year earlier. Net income totaled $4.25 million, up 11% from $3.84 million the same period a year earlier.

  • MicroStrategy releases new mobile offerings

    Las Vegas – The new MicroStrategy Analytics app for iPad allows users to get an optimized mobile view of their organizations’ analytical insights, while the MicroStrategy Analytics app enables users to connect to their analytics applications, and securely browse through project folders of grids, graphs, visual insights, visualizations and dashboards.

  • Security provider Feedzai enters U.S. market

    San Mateo, Calif. - Feedzai, a data science company that uses real-time, machine-based learning to prevent fraud, it is now available in the U.S. market. With its foray into the U.S. market, Feedzai will begin selling to payment networks, banks and retailers to prevent fraud in omnichannel commerce.

  • Facebook full-year revenues rise 55% to nearly $7.9 billion

    New York -- Record levels of engagement helped Facebook grow revenue in its fourth quarter, ended December 31, by 63% to nearly $2.59 billion. Full year revenues advanced 55% to nearly $7.9 billion.

    Net income increased 116% to $1.13 billion, from $523 million, or three cents a share.

  • ServiceChannel partners with GoodData for customer analytics

    Albertson, N.Y. - Facilities service management company ServiceChannel is partnering with cloud-based business intelligence platform GoodData. Through this partnership, ServiceChannel customers will now be able to have access to more than a dozen years of independent GoodView cost and performance data through its ProView intuitive reporting and visualization platform.
