    New York City -- Kohl's is the recipient of the People’s Pick award in The Harris Poll Customer Relationship Series, conducted by Harris Interactive. The award cognizes the strength of consumers' bonds with mid-tier department stores and reflects the customers' connections and future intentions.

  • Long-time Walmart IT chief named CIO at QVC

    WEST CHESTER, Pa. — QVC announced that Linda Dillman has been appointed CIO, reporting to QVC president and CEO Mike George.

    Dillman, who has more than 20 years of experience leading IT teams, most recently served as SVP global IT at HP. Previously, she was EVP and CIO at Wal-Mart Stores, where she was instrumental in transforming the supply chain management model for Walmart, according to a QVC press release. 

  • 7-Eleven implements mobile solution from On The Spot Systems

    Boston -- On The Spot Systems, a mobile systems provider, announced that 7-Eleven is using its Survey on the Spot mobile survey platform to capture feedback from managers in the field. 7-Eleven recognized the critical importance of gaining timely and accurate market-level data in order to make better business decisions and began using the mobile survey system in March, according to On The Spot Systems.

  • Sephora deploys Agilysis and RedIron mobile POS solution

    Cleveland -- Agilysys announced that beauty retailer Sephora Americas has successfully deployed NextPosition by Agilysys and RedIron's 2Mobile software to enhance customer service in a large number of its U.S.-based stores.

  • New alpha dog emerges at PetSmart

    PHOENIX — PetSmart CEO Robert Moran has taken on the additional role of chairman of the board, the company announced Friday. Moran has been the company's president and CEO since 2009, and served as president and COO from 2001 to 2009. Phil Francis, previously executive chairman, will remain a member of the board.

  • A&P chooses Galleria to optimize its merchandising strategy

    Chicago -- Galleria Retail Technology Solutions, a provider of retail and category optimization solutions, announced that The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. has chosen Galleria to help optimize its merchandising strategy and improve the customer experience within its more than 300 northeast and Mid-Atlantic stores.

    A&P will roll out several of Galleria’s solutions throughout its family of supermarkets.
     

  • Best Buy completes acquisition of mindShift Technologies

    Minneapolis -- Best Buy said today that it has completed the acquisition of mindShift Technologies, which provides managed IT, cloud, data center and professional services to more than 5,400 clients and 25,000 managed desktops in markets throughout the nation.

    The acquired firm will operate under its current name, management team and capabilities, which include approximately 500 employees at offices in Boston; Long Island, N.Y.; Minneapolis; Morrisville, N.C.; New York City; Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

     

  • Best Buy completes purchase of IT, cloud services provider

    MINNEAPOLIS — Best Buy said Thursday that it has completed the acquisition of mindShift Technologies. 

    The acquired firm will operate under its current name, management team and capabilities, which include approximately 500 employees at offices in Boston; Long Island, N.Y.; Minneapolis; Morrisville, N.C.; New York City; Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
