  • Cisco: Retailers miss more than half of return from ‘Internet of Everything’

    San Jose, Calif. – Retailers will gain $81 billion from the “Internet of Everything,” which is the term given to the connectivity of an increasing number of people, processes and things, in 2013. But according to new research from Cisco Systems, Inc., this only reflects 45% of the potential return.

  • Staples acquires personalization vendor

    Framingham, Mass. – Staples, Inc. has completed the acquisition of Runa, a software company based in San Mateo, Calif., that helps online retailers increase sales by personalizing the shopping experience. Terms and conditions of the acquisition were not disclosed.

  • Online retailer PureFormulas personalizes customer experience with Oracle Commerce

    Miami -- By moving its ecommerce operations to Oracle Commerce, online health supplements retailer PureFormulas will take advantage of Oracle’s multi-site architecture to support expansion, while significantly enhancing its customer experience and personalization capabilities.   
     

  • New CEO for Global Payments

    Global Payments president Jeffrey S. Sloan has been named as the company's CEO by the company’s board of directors. He succeeds Paul R. Garcia, who has been the company’s CEO since June 1999 and Chairman since October 2002.  

    Under Garcia's leadership, Global Payments became a publicly traded company in early 2001. At that time, Global Payments generated annual revenues of under $350 million, nearly all of which was sourced in the United States. Today, Global Payments is a multinational corporation with nearly $2.5 billion in revenues for fiscal year 2013.

  • Shopko taps Genco for transportation procurement project

    Pittsburgh -- Genco has been selected to manage a truckload transportation procurement event for Shopko.  The collaborative effort will encompass Shopko's inbound and outbound transportation network and is the third strategic procurement engagement Genco has provided to Shopko.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Aspira Networks has launched the Aspira 2.0 platform, the company's next-generation DNS service for network operators and retailers. The newly enhanced services are designed to make it easier to monetize broadband networks.

    Aspira aggregates networks and retailers to optimize shopping opportunities for consumers. According to the company, its products enhance the shopping experience and increase retailer exposure to consumers, while creating a revenue opportunity for network operators.
