  • Boneheads announces senior management team

    Atlanta -- Restaurant brands Boneheads Grilled Fish and Piri Piri Chicken has announced a new senior management team and board of directors, intended to ramp up the five-unit chains’ expansion plans.

    Boneheads franchisee Ron Barber has been appointed chairman of the board, and Beef O’Brady’s and Brass Tap chief development officer James Walker has been named to the board of directors.

  • Private investment firm acquires Retail Solutions Group

    Santa Monica, Calif. — Private investment firm Clearlake Capital Group has begun the process of acquiring the Retail Solutions Group of Agilysys through a newly formed affiliate, Kyrus Solutions. The transaction is expected to close in the early summer. 

  • Tiffany to open Moscow store

    New York -- Tiffany & Co. has announced plans to open a two-level store in Moscow’s GUM luxury department store, located in Red Square. At about 4,520 sq. ft., the new store is Tiffany’s first wholly owned retail business in Russia, and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2014.

    “Establishing a presence at this preeminent department store is a milestone in our growth strategy as a leading global luxury brand and underscores the importance of the Russian market,” said Frederic Cumenal, executive VP Tiffany & Co.

  • Brown Shoe CEO has new shoes to fill

    ST. LOUIS — Brown Shoe Company’s president and CEO Diane Sullivan will have new shoes to fill as chairman of the board, effective Feb. 2, 2014, once Ron Fromm steps down as chair. Fromm will remain a member of the board.

  • Steve Madden reinvigorates e-commerce presence

    WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Footwear and accessories manufacturer Steve Madden is looking to Micros Systems, a provider of IT solutions for the retail and hospitality industries, to help it reinvigorate its e-commerce presence and improve its order management, customer relationship management and cloud point-of-service solutions.

    Steve Madden will leverage Micros’ omnichannel product suite to increase traffic and conversion in both its online and mobile channels. 

  • Crate & Barrel brand implements SeeWhy conversion manager software

  • Study: Father’s Day sales up 2% in 2013

    Thanks to a rebounding economy, dads this year stand to get more than just a boring tie, a pair of socks or a pat on the back for Father's Day.

    According to industry research firm IBISWorld, Father's Day sales are expected to total $13 billion this year, a 2% increase from 2012. Traditional Father’s Day gifts, such as automotive accessories and clothing, will take a backseat to gift choices reflecting economic recovery, like home-improvement tools. This increase is mainly due to the overall rise in consumer spending during the past year.
