  • Caribou Coffee puts up 64-ft.-tall Pinterest board at Mall of America

    New York -- Caribou Coffee has taken over the rotunda in the nation’s largest shopping center, Mall of America, Bloomington, Minn., to put up a 64-ft.-tall “Living Pinterest Board” to celebrate the launch of its new Real Inspiration blend, created in collaboration with its fans on Pinterest. The Caribou board is on display through Thursday, February 13.

  • Digital Future director predicts Facebook decline

    Facebook just reported record levels of user engagement along with fourth quarter sales and profits that blew away forecasts, but a new study offers a more measured view of the social media network’s longer term prospects.

    The director of the USC Annenberg Center for the Digital Future Jeffrey Coles and the research firm Bovitz conducted a survey last fall in which one third of respondents said they will be using Facebook less in five years.

  • Study: Facebook influences holiday shoppers

    New York – Facebook had a notable influence on holiday shoppers, especially those using mobile devices. According to a new study from Millward Brown Digital, 83% of 500 consumers surveyed who follow a retailer or consumer product on Facebook found their posts to be somewhat to very valuable when preparing for holiday shopping.

  • Shell launches social contest for loyalty members

    Houston - Shell has launched “How I FRN,” a contest that invites consumers to submit a photograph or video via Instagram or Twitter that represents the individual's experience with the Shell Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) loyalty program.

  • Young customers taken for ride at Meijer

    The opportunity to win a $100 gift card and appear in a television commercial is being used by Meijer to entice parents to upload photos of their kids to the retailer’s Facebook page.

    As part of a contest called “Star with Sandy,” Meijer is giving customers until February 6 to submit photos of their kids or themselves when they were young riding a mechanical horse named “Sandy” that can be found at each of Meijer’s 204 stores in five Midwestern states.

  • Survey: Online retailers stress efficiency, promotions

    Chicago -- Shoppers seek out time-saving tools where both technology and innovation are embraced to better serve the consumer. According to the 16th annual Mystery Shopping Study from The E-tailing Group, efficiency most often accompanies search where retailers almost universally (89%) have in place navigational dropdowns for a quick read of the assortment, while 90% of those retailers embellish these locations with favorite products or pre-defined offers.

  • Kozy Shack Pudding seeks granny

    Kozy Shack, a 50-year-old pudding brand, is hiring a spokes-grandma to represent the brand nationally in online, broadcast and print advertisements.
