  • Amazon.com expands Prime Now to Atlanta

    Amazon.com has added Atlanta to its growing roster of cities with same-day and one-hour delivery.

    The ultra-fast Prime Now service, offered exclusively as a benefit to Prime members, provides one-hour delivery on tens of thousands of daily essentials through a mobile app. All Prime members can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, and will be notified when the service is available in their local area.

    Kohl’s has donated more than $2.1 million over three years to Susan G. Komen Southeast Wisconsin as part of its efforts to support families in the retailer’s hometown.

  • Talbots extends private label credit agreement with Alliance Date

    Hingham, Mass. – Talbots Inc. has signed an extension to a long-term agreement to continue receiving private label credit card services from Alliance Data Systems Corp. Talbots operates nearly 500 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.

    A top digital marketing executive heaped praise on Walmart’s digital efforts at an industry event attended by executives from Amazon, eBay, Alibaba and Google who are more accustomed to such praise.

  • Sam's Club expands discounted prescription program

    Sam’s Club is expanding its prescription savings program to allow Plus and Business Plus members to save even more money through new benefits.

    New savings on generic prescriptions, some of which are available free of charge or at a discounted cost of $4 or $10 at specified quantities, are now available in all Sam’s Club locations with pharmacies.

    This new benefit is part of Sam’s Club Extra Value Drug List, through which Sam’s Club Plus and Business Plus members also receive 10-30% savings on select brand name medications.

  • Illinois credit union offers Buzz Points loyalty rewards

    Decatur, Ill. - Decatur Earthmover Credit Union has selected the Buzz Points merchant-funded loyalty program. Buzz Points is free for consumers and allows credit union members to earn rewards by using their debit cards for everyday shopping.   

  • Report: Wal-Mart seeks lower supply chain costs, expanded grocery

    New York – Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is reportedly asking suppliers to cut their product costs and also seeking to expand its grocery business. According to the Wall Street Journal, Wal-Mart is recommending that suppliers forego investing in joint marketing programs with the retailer and use that savings to reduce the price Wal-Mart pays for their goods.
     

  • Books-A-Million celebrates customers in April

    Books-A-Million is trying to increase brand loyalty with two new omnichannel marketing campaigns celebrating customers.

    During the month of April, the retailer will host Customer Appreciation Month. The campaign kicks off with Educator Week on April 4 and wraps up with Geek Week, which will offer Stars Wars events and comic book giveaways.
