  • Report: Ron Johnson to launch on-demand delivery service

    New York -- Ron Johnson is reportedly stepping back into the public arena. The former J.C. Penney chief (and, before that, Apple retail head) is about to launch a “high-end, on-demand delivery service” for electronic devices, according to The Information. The report described the service as "Best Buy's Geek Squad meets Apple's Genius Bar."

  • Cache enters $30 million credit facility

    New York – Cache Inc. has entered into a new, three year, $30 million revolving credit facility with Salus Capital Partners LLC. The new facility replaces the company’s existing $25 million revolving credit facility with Wells Fargo Bank, National Association.

    “We are pleased to have secured this new credit facility with Salus Capital, which improves our financial flexibility as we continue to implement our turnaround plan to position Cache for profitable growth,” said Jay Margolis, chairman and CEO Cache.

  • WooCommerce integrates LevelUp for payments

    E-commerce platform WooCommerce has partnered with LevelUp to lower payment processing costs for merchants.

    WooCommerce merchants can now accept LevelUp payments for a flat 1.95% processing rate. Merchants will also be able to run a full suite of revenue-driving marketing campaigns.

  • Wahlburgers to open three franchise Las Vegas stores

    Hingham, Mass. – Fast-casual burger chain Wahlburgers has signed a three-restaurant franchise agreement in Las Vegas with Vegas American Hospitality Inc. Wahlburgers will debut in Las Vegas in early 2015 with the opening of its first restaurant at a location soon to be disclosed.  

  • Bed, Bath & Beyond beats Street on profit, sales in Q2

    Union, N.J. – Bed, Bath & Beyond Inc. reported net earnings of $223.95 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2014, down 10% from $249.3 million but still ahead of Wall Street projections. Increases in both interest expense and selling, general and administrative expense helped reduce net earnings.

  • Olay taps Katie Holmes first global brand ambassador

    Skincare brand Olay has selected actress Katie Holmes as its first global brand ambassador. Holmes will represent the Olay global brand campaign “Your Best Beautiful.”

    “I’m very excited to be the Olay Global Brand Ambassador,” said Holmes. “Olay is a brand I respect, trust and believe in. I love the products and message to women to never settle and put their best face forward, every day.”

  • Deloitte: Total holiday sales to rise 4% to 4.5%; non-store sales up 14%

    New York -- Total holiday sales are expected to rise 4% to 4.5% over last season, totaling between $981 and $986 billion, according to Deloitte’s annual retail holiday sales forecast. The growth represents a moderate improvement over last year’s 2.8% gain.

    Additionally, Deloitte forecasts a 13.5% to 14% increase in non-store sales in the online and mail order channels during the 2014 holiday season.
