WooCommerce integrates LevelUp for payments

9/24/2014

E-commerce platform WooCommerce has partnered with LevelUp to lower payment processing costs for merchants.

WooCommerce merchants can now accept LevelUp payments for a flat 1.95% processing rate. Merchants will also be able to run a full suite of revenue-driving marketing campaigns.

According to the e-commerce platform, paying with LevelUp is also fast, secure and convenient for customers. To pay with LevelUp, customers must enter their LevelUp email address and receive a push notification asking for confirmation on their mobile device. Once they confirm, their LevelUp account is connected to the merchant and they are ready to checkout. Just like with a credit card, the customer's LevelUp account can be saved by the merchant to allow for speedier checkout next time. And customers have the ability to remotely de-authenticate each merchant's access to their account.

Customers also have the option to do a "Quick Checkout" with LevelUp to save time. This removes an average of 200 keystrokes from a customer's checkout experience, the company said. By logging in with LevelUp, customers avoid the need to register for a new account, type in their shipping address and enter their credit card number.

"We couldn't be more excited to partner with LevelUp and to get this product out to WooCommerce merchants. We are confident LevelUp will provide our users with more ways to save costs and increase revenue. It's all part of the WooCommerce mission to make e-commerce simple, powerful and profitable for our merchants," said Joel Bronkowski, head of business development WooCommerce.

WooCommerce will offer LevelUp as a free add-on during a three month launch promotion, after which time purchasing the integration will cost $79.

LevelUp is one of the largest open payments networks. Consumers use their LevelUp account to pay with their smart device or web browser.
