  • Target expands same-day delivery

    Target is expanding its Instacart same-day delivery service to another major U.S. city.

    Following a successful pilot in Minneapolis, Target is now partnering with Instacart to offer customers in the San Francisco Bay Area fresh food, non-perishable food items, health and beauty products, pet and household supplies, and select baby items delivered to their homes in as little as one hour.

  • Godiva opens in New York’s largest department store

    Godiva Chocolatier has opened an in-store boutique in Macy’s Herald Square flagship in Manhattan.

    Shoppers can create their own bespoke assortment of chocolates in the shop, which is accented with the brand’s signature gold throughout. The boutique features the largest chocolate case in North America. It’s also the first to include a large communal table, complimented by café seating.

  • American Eagle expands portfolio and profit

    American Eagle Outfitters is adding brands to its portfolio that could diversify the company's reach and eventually lead to new store formats.

    American Eagle has acquired Todd Snyder New York, an upscale menswear brand, and Snyder’s Tailgate Clothing Co., a vintage sports-inspired brand that operates a college-town store concept.

    Todd Synder, founder and creative director of his eponymous company, will join American Eagle as executive VP, reporting to Chad Kessler, global brand president, American Eagle

  • Target, Neiman Marcus and Jet.com among Shoptalk headliners

    More than 100 senior retail executives are already confirmed as speakers for a first-of-its-kind event called Shoptalk that will be held next May with a focus on next generation commerce.

    Organizers of the event have confirmed speaker participants including Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and mobile; Casey Carl, Target chief strategy and innovation officer; Joe Megibow, chief digital officer at American Eagle Outfitters; John Koryl, president of Neiman Marcus stores and online and Andrea Wasserman, senior VP and head of direct-to-consumer at Nine West Group.

  • Amazon makes ultimate omnichannel move

    Amazon’s first permanent physical store has opened in its hometown of Seattle and guess what? It looks a lot like the bookstores whose demise it facilitated.

    In a letter to customers, the retailer announced the opening of the store located at 4601 26th Avenue NE in Seattle’s University Village on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

  • Pinterest extends shopping further

    Two new offerings from Pinterest make the visually-oriented social media platform even more accessible for e-commerce.

    First, Pinterest is launching a new feature called Pinterest Shop. Every day, Pinterest will offer what it calls “hand-picked” product selections. The curated assortments will include products from major retailers like Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, as well as from smaller boutique retailers.

    Pinterest will roll out Pinterest Shop for desktop and mobile in the next couple of weeks.

    The top executive over Health and Wellness of Walmart's U.S. division is leaving to join Brookdale Senior Living as its COO.
