  • Opus Group completes four Gander Mountain stores

    Minneapolis -- The Opus Group announced the completion of four projects for St. Paul, Minnesota-based retailer Gander Mountain. Opus built three new 52,000-sq.-ft. Gander Mountain stores in Augusta, Georgia; Newnan, Ga. and Algonquin, Ill.; and managed renovations of the retailer’s 96,275-sq.-ft. store in Forest Lake, Minn.  
  • Study: Wearable Technology Will Upend Retail

    Wearable technology is ripe for growth — especially among millennials, according to PwC’s “Consumer Intelligence Series – The Wearable Future” report. Twenty percent of American adults already own a wearable device, and the adoption rate — on par with tablets in 2012 — is quickly expected to rise.

  • CVS Q3 revenue up 10%

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Health Corp. on Tuesday reported slightly higher-than-expected quarterly profit, helped in part by growth in sales of specialty drugs. Net income decreased 24% to $900 million from $1.21 billion in the year-ago period, primarily due to a $521 million pre-tax loss on the early extinguishment of debt.      
  • Simon: Most holiday shoppers will visit malls

    Indianapolis -- More than eight in 10 (83%) of holiday shoppers will shop at the mall during the 2014 holiday season, and that percentage climbs to 89% of millennial shoppers age 18-33. According to the new "2014 Holiday Shopping Behavior Survey" from Simon, nearly nine in 10 (87%) respondents agree that "malls have the latest and hottest fashion and styles of the season."

  • South Towne Center Mall and Marketplace, Sandy, Utah, acquired; renovation planned

    Sandy, Utah -- A partnership between Pacific Retail Capital Partners, Silverpeak Real Estate Partners and the merchant banking division of Goldman Sachs announced that it has acquired the 1.3 million-square-foot South Towne Center Mall and Marketplace in Sandy, Utah.   
  • Lozier Corp. acquires Leggett & Platt Store Fixtures Group

    Omaha, Nebraska -- Lozier Corporation, a provider of store fixtures to major retailers around the world, announced the acquisition of the Leggett & Platt Store Fixtures Group, another leading manufacturer of retail fixtures.  
  • Kurt Salmon hires PwC vet in retail group

    New York –- Kurt Salmon has named Brian Ehrig as a partner in its Retail and Consumer Products Group.   Ehrig has spent the last 16 years creating new operational strategies and product offerings for retail and consumer goods companies, as well as leading transformation projects, including those for new market entrances and involving new retail concepts. Ehrig's most recent role was director at PwC.
