  • Urban Outfitters names former J. Crew exec as president of namesake brand

    Philadelphia -- Urban Outfitters Inc. has appointed Trish Donnelly to the role of president of Urban Outfitters brand, North America, effective July 14. She will report directly to Ted Marlow, CEO, Urban Outfitters Group.

  • Fresh Direct adopts mobile-messaging solution

    Jersey City, N.J. -- Single Touch Systems, technology-based mobile media solutions provider, announced that it has signed on FreshDirect, a leading online fresh food grocer, for its “Reminder Messaging Product.”

    The messaging program includes implementing order status, delivery status and service notifications.

    The technology provides companies with the opportunity to establish a more trusted relationship with its customers by direct mobile messaging.

  • Barnes & Noble chairman sells portion of stock

    Barnes & Noble chairman Leonard Riggio has sold a portion of his holdings of company stock.

    Riggio said he sold 3.7 million shares of common stock, after which his holdings are expected to represent approximately 20% of Barnes & Noble’s common stock outstanding.

    “After this sale I remain the company’s largest shareholder, a position I feel very good about,” said Riggio. “I love this company and I believe in its future as I do in all of the wonderful people who work here.”

  • Online furniture retailer names new CEO

    Jon Barker was named CEO at Omaha-based online furniture retailer Hayneedle to fill a position previously held by Doug Nielsen.

    Barker most recently served as Hayneedle’s president and prior to that was COO. Nielsen will remain as the company’s chairman.

    "We have incredible talent in our organization and Jon is an exceptional leader,” Doug said. “I am truly excited to have him lead our company during our next phase of growth.” Doug will continue to support Hayneedle as chairman of the board.

    New York - L.L.Bean was ranked number one in online customer service in March 2013. According to monthly benchmark analysis from customer service analysis provider StellaService, LLBean.com showed strength in email and returns, besting all other retailers in those specific service areas.

  • QVC plans France expansion

    West Chester, Pa. – QVC Inc. plans to expand its European presence into France. With the launch of the new service scheduled for the second quarter of 2015, QVC will expand its e-commerce business to seven operations reaching nine countries.

    New York – PriceGrabber and StellaService are launching a partnership where PriceGrabber will display StellaService's online retailer ratings and customer service performance data on PriceGrabber.com. In addition, PriceGrabber will act as a distribution partner for StellaService to its network of digital publishers.
