4/17/2014

Minneapolis – Target has increased the number of goods it offers for sale via online subscription by adding more than 1,600 items, according to the Associated Press. The chain started the service last fall, by offering some 150 baby products for delivery.

In addition to adding more items, Target is expanding the assortment to include a wider range of goods,

Target’s subscription plan is free and provides deliveries in four-, six-, eight-, 10- and 12-week installments. The retailer is primarily trying to compete with similar Amazon.com programs such as Subscribe and Save and Amazon Prime.

Target executives said subscription sales of baby items, introduced in fall 2013, now account for about 15% of the retailer’s online sales.
