  • Lane Bryant to open new store in Georgia

    Columbus, Ohio – Lane Bryant is opening a new store in Kennesaw, Ga. The store will be located in Town Center at Cobb, right next to the store's previous location at the mall.

    The new store is slated to open March 21 and will have a grand opening celebration March 21-23.

  • RadioShack opens second concept store in California March 22

    Fort Worth, Texas -- RadioShack will open the company's second California concept store in Sun Valley on March 22. This RadioShack had been in Sun Valley since the store opened in its original location in 1982.

    All concept stores in the company's portfolio feature an upgraded shopping experience, which showcases the company's new look. Concept store features include:

    • A speaker wall controlled by in-store tablets, empowering customers to experience a dozen different speakers.

  • PacSun increases net loss in Q4

    Anaheim, Calif. – Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. reported a net loss of $22.5 million during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013, up from a net loss of $19.8 million in the same period a year earlier. Net sales dropped 2% to $218.6 million $222.8 million, while same-store sales rose 2%.

    Pacific Sunwear cited the 53rd week in fiscal 2012 as negatively affecting its comparative fiscal 2013 results. Looking ahead, the retailer expects a same-store sales increase of 1 to 4% and revenues of $169 million to $174 million during fiscal 2014.

  • Sold: Josey Rosemeade Center in Carrollton, Texas

    Dallas — CBRE’s Private Capital Group has announced the sale of Josey Rosemeade Shopping Center, an unanchored strip center in Carrollton, Texas.

    Located just northwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area in an affluent, densely populated area, the 14,500-sq.-ft. center received more than 20 offers.

  • PacSun profit picture challenging as Q4 comps rise

    Pacific Sunwear overcame weak mall traffic and bad weather to log its eighth consecutive quarter of same-store sales growth with a 2% comp increase in the fourth quarter.

    The teen and young adult retailer said sales from continuing operations during the quarter ended Feb. 1 totaled $218.6 million compared to sales of $222.8 million during the fourth quarter the prior year, a period which included the benefit of an additional week which added sales of $9 million. PacSun ended its most recent fiscal year with 618 stores compared to 644 in the year earlier period.

  • New mixed development planned for Philadelphia

    Philadelphia – A new $500 million retail/residential development is reportedly planned for downtown Philadelphia. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a block of stores located on Market Street between 11th and 12th Street in Philadelphia will be razed or moved to make way for a new complex that will be known as East Market.
