Queens, N.Y. — The Children’s Place has leased a 3,799-sq.-ft. space near other child focused retailers at The Shops at SkyView Center in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, N.Y. The retailer plans to open in May.

Hoffman Estates, Ill. - Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc. has remodeled a Sears Hometown store in Helena, Mont. The store now has a fresh look.

New York — Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP, of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group have arranged a first New York flagship for luxury apparel and accessories brand Peter Millar on Madison Avenue, between 54th and 55th Streets.

"This label is a perfect fit for the Madison and Worth Avenues of the world," said Consolo.

Consolo and Aquino represented the landlord, E PLUS E LLC, and Hanley Advisors represented the tenant.

Arlington, Va. — Simon Property Group has announced details of a multi-phase renovation and expansion at The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Va. Anchored by Nordstrom and Macy’s, The Fashion Centre is home to more than 170 stores.

Milwaukee — Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s investment sales team has brokered the final sales phase of The Shoppes of Nagawaukee in Delafield, Wis. This was the third transaction consummated on behalf of the seller, Told Development, for this shopping center since 2012.

Foot Locker has named Sheilagh M. Clarke as SVP, general counsel and secretary, effective June 1. She succeeds Gary M. Bahler, who is retiring on that date.

Clarke is currently VP, associate general counsel and assistant secretary of Foot Locker. She joined Foot Locker in 1988, and since that time has held a number of positions in the company's legal department. She is a graduate of Monmouth University and Seton Hall Law School.

Bahler, who joined the company in 1980, has been a SVP since 1998, general counsel since 1993, and secretary since 1990.

Luxury brand Burberry has opened a new, tech-savvy flagship in Shanghai, its largest in China to date. Inspired by Burberry’s Regent Street flagship in London, the three-level store seamlessly blends digital and physical displays, immersing customers in the Burberry brand.  

Most U.S. retailers make their first international foray in contiguous markets such as Canada or Mexico for obvious reasons. However, for those interested in massive growth potential who have a long term perspective a more exotic market beckons.
