  • Realty Resources announces new members

    Virginia Beach, Va. — Realty Resources has announced that several firms have joined the nationwide alliance of commercial real estate brokerage firms.

  • Vornado to spin off shopping centers

    New YorkVornado Realty Trust plans to spin off nearly 16.1 million sq. ft. of shopping center assets into a new publicly traded REIT by the end of 2014, leaving the company with a largely office-centric portfolio, according to SNL Real Estate.

    The move will simplify Vornado’s investment strategy and enable the company to focus on the ownership of office assets in the Washington, D.C., and New York City regions, including the high-value Manhattan office over retail assets.

  • Report: California shopping center to expand use permit

    Woodland, Calif. – The Gateway Shopping Center in Woodland, Calif. has reportedly received permission to expand the types of businesses allowed in its use permit. According to the Woodland Daily Democrat, the Woodland Planning Commission is granting approval for food services, banks, professional service offices, nail salons and dry cleaners to be located at the center.

    RadioShack and Payless Shoes are also reportedly awaiting approval to open stores at the center.

     

  • Simon plans Phipps Plaza renovation in Atlanta

    Atlanta — Simon Property Group has announced a series of improvements for Phipps Plaza in Atlanta’s fashionable Buckhead district.

    The first improvement will make over the interior with a fresh new look. Plans include upgraded LED lighting, repainting, new warm wood accents, an updated railing system, luxury soft seating and lounging areas with Wi-Fi connectivity and chargers, upgraded restrooms and the installation of a hotel-like concierge service center.

  • The Children’s Place to SkyView Center in Queens, N.Y.

    Queens, N.Y. — The Children’s Place has leased a 3,799-sq.-ft. space near other child focused retailers at The Shops at SkyView Center in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, N.Y. The retailer plans to open in May.

  • Sears Hometown store in Montana remodels

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. - Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc. has remodeled a Sears Hometown store in Helena, Mont. The store now has a fresh look.

  • Peter Millar is coming to Madison Avenue in NYC

    New York — Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP, of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group have arranged a first New York flagship for luxury apparel and accessories brand Peter Millar on Madison Avenue, between 54th and 55th Streets.

    "This label is a perfect fit for the Madison and Worth Avenues of the world," said Consolo.

    Consolo and Aquino represented the landlord, E PLUS E LLC, and Hanley Advisors represented the tenant.

    Arlington, Va. — Simon Property Group has announced details of a multi-phase renovation and expansion at The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Va. Anchored by Nordstrom and Macy’s, The Fashion Centre is home to more than 170 stores.
