  • Report: Court overturns $1 million RadioShack receipt settlement

    Fort Worth, Texas – A class-action settlement RadioShack Corp. reached with consumers that offered them $10 vouchers as compensation for printing their credit and debit card expiration dates on receipts has reportedly been overturned by the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago. According to Reuters, a panel of three federal judges said the total $1 million settlement is too small considering the amount of legal fees that must be paid.

  • The Shops at SkyView Center announces five new store openings

    Flushing, Queens -- Onex Real Estate Partners announced The Shops at SkyView Center has welcomed five new tenants to the growing roster of retailers during the third quarter.
     
    The newest addition to Flushing’s mixed-use, multi-level shopping center includes Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, which officially opened on Sept. 10. Additionally, Justice & Brothers, a national retailer known for the best in tween fashion and accessories, catering to both boys and girls, has opened on Level D.
     

  • Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA expansion set to open

    Niagara Falls, N.Y. -- Macerich announced that its outlet property Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA will open the doors of its planned expansion on Oct. 23. The new expansion delivers nearly 175,000 sq. ft. and opens with 35 new tenants, and more to come in 2015.

  • Urban Retail acquires pair of Michigan shopping centers for $51 million

    Chicago -- Urban Retail Properties, LLC, announced the acquisition of Oakland Square and Oakland Plaza in Troy, Michigan, by its parent company RAIT Financial Trust. Purchase price was $50.8 million.

    Both properties are adjacent to Oakland Mall, a 1.5-million-sq.-ft. super-regional center that Urban Retail currently manages.

  • Divaris completes four transactions in Southeastern Virginia

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate, Inc. announced the completion of four retail transactions, totaling 21,688 sq. ft.

    Dollar Tree renewed its lease for 9,663 sq. ft. at Williamsburg Marketcenter, located at 6610 Mooretown Road, in Williamsburg.

    Castaways Inc. leased 5,025 sq. ft. of retail space at the Divaris-leased and -managed Lynnhaven Green Shopping Center, located at 1505 Lynnhaven Parkway, in Virginia Beach.

  • Simon adds electric car fast-charging stations to four centers in Northern California

    San Francisco -- Simon and NRG eVgo, a subsidiary of NRG Energy, announced the installation of new electric car fast-charging Freedom Station sites that can recharge shoppers' vehicles in 30 minutes or less at four Northern California Simon shopping centers: Vacaville Premium Outlets, Livermore Premium Outlets, Great Mall and Petaluma Village Premium Outlets.
