  • Microsoft plans NYC flagship store; 10 new stores for holidays

    Redmond, Wash. – Microsoft will open its first flagship location, on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

    In addition, Microsoft plans to open 10 new stores across the U.S. in time for the 2014 holiday season, while the flagship New York store is being built. Microsoft has not given a specific timeframe for when the flagship will open, but said it has been planning the store for five years. It will open in a spot currently occupied by luxury accessories brand Fendi, a few blocks south of an Apple store.

  • RadioShack rolls out mobile repair service in Miami

    Fort Worth, Texas - RadioShack's Fix It Here same-day mobile repair service is now available in 32 stores in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area. By visiting their neighborhood RadioShack store, smartphone and tablet owners can have common issues such as cracked screens, broken buttons and damaged charging ports repaired.

  • RadioShack CFO leaves after seven months

    Fort Worth, Texas – John Feray, who had served as CFO of RadioShack for less than a year, has resigned from the company, citing personal reasons. Holly F. Etlin, managing director of AlixPartners and longtime RadioShack advisor, has been named interim CFO of the struggling retailer. She previously served as RadioShack's interim CFO from July 2013 to February 2014.

  • RadioShack seeks CFO

    Longtime RadioShack adviser Holly F. Etlin has been tapped once more as interim CFO, replacing John Feray. Citing personal reasons, Feray resigned Sept. 12, just a day after the company posted its 10th straight quarterly loss.

    Etlin, a managing director of AlixPartners, has already served as RadioShack's interim CFO, from July 2013 to Feb. 2014.

    RadioShack warned in a regulatory filing it may seek bankruptcy protection, with a possible sale or third-party investment as other potential avenues to remedy its ongoing financial woes.

  • New CFO at Hhgregg

    Hhgregg has added Robert J. Riesbeck to its executive team as CFO, as part of the retailer’s continued focus on transforming the business.

    Riesbeck has more than 25 years of experience in financial and operations management. Most recently, he served as operations executive/group CFO at Sun Capital Partners where he was responsible for financial and operations oversight of a diverse group of portfolio companies with combined revenues exceeding $5 billion.

  • RadioShack Q2 loss widens, may seek bankruptcy

    Fort Worth, Texas – RadioShack Corp. on Thursday posted a net loss of $137.2 million in its second quarter, more than double the $52.2 million loss reported in the year-ago period.  It was the troubled retailer’s 10th straight quarterly loss. RadioShack warned in a regulatory filing it may seek bankruptcy protection, with a possible sale or third-party investment as other potential avenues to remedy its ongoing financial woes.

  • Eastwood Towne Center signs J. Jill

    Oak Brook, Ill. - Eastwood Towne Center has signed J.Jill, who selected Eastwood Towne Center as their only location in Central Michigan. This follows on the heels of recent opening announcements by Apple, Sephora, Gymboree and a newly expanded Forever 21, also exclusive to Eastwood in Central Michigan.

    The 3,600-sq.-ft. J. Jill store will be located next to Express and American Eagle. J.Jill is expected to open in the late fall.
