Microsoft plans NYC flagship store; 10 new stores for holidays
Redmond, Wash. – Microsoft said it will open 10 stores across the United States in time for the upcoming holiday season. In addition, the tech giant announced it will open its first flagship location, on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The location, currently home to a Fendi shop, is just a few blocks south of an Apple store.
The company did not disclose when the flagship would open. Along with its retail component, Microsoft said the Fifth Avenue store will serve as an “experiential space” in which it could engage with its customers and partners in new and innovative ways.
“Microsoft Stores will play a key role in our strategy as we continue to deliver the outstanding choice, value and service for customers everywhere,” said David Porter, corporate VP worldwide retail stores, Microsoft, in a blog post.
Microsoft currently operates 104 stores throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.
