  • Men's Wearhouse succession plan: Founder Zimmer to step down as CEO

    Houston -- Men's Wearhouse announced Monday that company president and COO Douglas S. Ewert will succeed founder George Zimmer as president and COO, effective June 15.

    According to the retailer, the transition is part of a previously announced succession plan.

    Ewert, 47, has been nominated by the board to be elected as a director of the company at the annual shareholder meeting and will be included in the list of nominees in the proxy statement for consideration by the shareholders.

    Corona, Calif. -- The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos, in Corona, Calif., announced it has changed its name to The Shops at Dos Lagos. This change kicks off the branding re-launch and includes a new logo design, website design, URL address to ShopDosLagos.com, and signage.

  • The Lash Lounge to open at The Shops at Highland Village

    Highland Village, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in Highland Village, Texas, at The Shops at Highland Village to The Lash Lounge.

    The Lash Lounge has leased 2,000 sq. ft. and is slated to open this summer.

    The 352,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use lifestyle center is anchored by AMC 12 Theaters and Barnes & Noble Booksellers alongside national retailers such as Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works and Potbelly Sandwich Works.

  • Mid-America closes on six retail leases at Chicago shopping centers

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Mid-America Asset Management said that several retail leases have been completed at six shopping centers in Chicago’s western suburbs. Mid-America is the exclusive leasing representative of each of the centers.

    The Shops at South Elgin (South Elgin, Ill.) signed a lease for 6,604 sq. ft. with independent health food/vitamin retailer Fruitful Yield, to expand the current tenant’s space by 3,264 sq. ft. The newly expanded store is expected to open June 1.

  • Wet Seal opens at Esplanade Shopping Center

    Oxnard, Calif. -- New York City-based Centro Properties Group announced that Wet Seal has opened a 6,000-sq.-ft. store at Esplanade Shopping Center, located in Oxnard, Calif. 

    The new store celebrated its grand opening on April 16.

    Centro Properties Group is the owner of Esplanade Shopping Center.

  • Stardust Arcade opens at Boynton Beach Mall

    Boynton Beach, Fla. -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group announced that Stardust Arcade, an adult penny redemption arcade, has opened at Boynton Beach Mall, in Boynton Beach, Fla.

    The 10,000-sq.-ft. space features 150 machines within a Las Vegas-style setting showcasing faux Roman columns, marble details and hand-painted Greek themed murals created by Florida Atlantic University’s Arts Professor Jim Crane and his fine art students.

  • American Eagle to sponsor events for Child Abuse Prevention Month

    PITTSBURGH -- KidsVoice, an organization which advocates for abused, neglected and at-risk children, announced that American Eagle Outfitters will be the presenting sponsor for its events during Child Abuse Prevention Month, which include Kitetails & Cocktails on April 28 and Kites for Kids on April 30. Both events will take place at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.
