  • Click and collect coming to Bentonville

    Walmart has gotten the green light to build its drive-in grocery center in Bentonville, Ark., near the intersection of S. Walton Blvd. and J St., according to an article in The City Wire.

    The article reported that Bentonville’s Planning Commission approved Walmart’s request “to approve slight variations in its parking stall depths, number of curb cuts and the building materials . . . with no discussion.”

    Boise, Idaho - Associated Grocers of Florida is adopting recall process management technology from Recall InfoLink. Recall InfoLink offers a Web-based product recall management platform that protects brand image and reduces liability for businesses involved in processing recalls.

    It improves efficiency by providing standardized messages, automated communications, inventory tracking and reports for compliance efforts.

  • New director of insights for consumer experience marketing co. Interactions

    Interactions, a leading global integrated sales and marketing programs developer, has appointed David Zierman as director of insights.
     
    Based in San Diego, Zierman will lead the company’s market research efforts including managing primary data collected via Mystery Shopping, Customer Intercept Surveys, Web Based Surveys, electronic customer satisfaction surveys (bottom of the receipt surveys) and Retail Audits. He will be responsible for the organization’s P&L as well as business development and operations.

    Albuquerque, N.M. -- Consumers can shop for clothes categorized by astrological signs at the newly launched Fashionsofthezodiac.com, described as the world's first online store to organize its clothing and accessories by the 12 signs of the zodiac. The company expects to open a store early next year, in Denver.

  • Coldwater Creek launches closing activities of stores, website

    Boston -- Gordon Brothers Group and Hilco Merchant Resources have, effective May 8, launched the total liquidation of Coldwater Creek brick-and-mortar stores and its website.

    The joint-venture team is conducting closing sales at all Coldwater Creek stores and online, offering 30% to 50% off all items.

    San Jose, Calif. - EBay and Invaluable are launching a partnership to offer traditional live auctions through real-time online bidding at auction houses around the world. Invaluable’s software solutions, including their online live bidding technology, will allow its partner auction houses to bring more than $4 billion of inventory onto the global eBay platform.
