    Altoona, Pa.David Woodley, VP of sales and marketing for convenience store chain Sheetz, has moved into the executive VP spot vacated by Louie Sheetz.

  • Bob’s Discount Furniture to be acquired by Bain Capital

    Manchester, Conn. — Bob’s Discount Furniture has signed a definitive agreement to sell a majority stake of its business to Bain Capital for an undisclosed amount. Bob's management team will continue to own a "significant stake" after the deal and will remain involved in operations, according to the company, which has been majority owned by private equity firm KarpReilly/Apax for the past nine years.

  • Crocs seeks new CEO after equity deal

    A search is underway for a new CEO at Crocs following an investment by private equity firm Blackstone and ongoing sales and profitability challenges which could see the funky footwear maker open fewer stores.

    Crocs said John McCarvel planned to retire from his position as Croc’s president, CEO and board member around April 30, 2014 as the company rethinks its approach to growth with increased input from Blackstone representatives who will occupy two board seats.

  • SED chairman assumes CEO role

    SED International Holdings chairman Sham Gad has assumed the role of CEO at the troubled supply chain management provider and distributor of consumer electronics and small appliances.

    Gad fills a role previously held by Mike Hagan who was appointed to the position on an interim basis in October following the resignation of former CEO Robert O’Malley.

  • Walgreens earns perfect score on Corporate Equality Index

    Deerfield Park, Ill. – Walgreens received a perfect score of 100% on the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This marks the ninth year Walgreens earned 100% on the CEI, a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

  • Hhgregg CFO resigns, interim named

    Indianapolis – Jeremy J. Aguilar has resigned as CFO and secretary of Hhgregg, effective Jan. 31. Andrew S. Giesler, senior VP finance, has been appointed to serve as interim CFO and secretary from Jan. 31 until a full-time replacement is named.

    Giesler, 36, has served the company in several roles since joining in May 2007, including senior VP finance; VP finance; VP controller and director of finance and investor relations. Aguilar is leaving to take a similar role at another company.

  • HH Gregg searches for new CFO

    Consumer electronics retailer HH Gregg is looking for a new chief financial officer after Jeremy Aguilar resigned from the company to accept a similar role elsewhere.

    Aguilar spent eight years with the Indianapolis-based operator of 228 stores. His resignation is effective as of January 31 at which time SVP of finance Andrew Giesler will assume CFO responsibilities on an interim basis.
