Sheetz names new sales and marketing EVP
David Woodley was elevated to the role of executive vice president of sales and marketing at the innovative and family owned Sheetz chain of 460 convenience stores.
Woodley fills a role currently held by Louie Sheetz who will be stepping down after 36 years with the company but will remain on the board of directors. Woodley has served as vp of sales and marketing since 2005 and the change is part of a planned leadership transition involving the appointment of Joe Sheetz as president and CEO to succeed Stan Sheetz who move to the role of chairman.
Woodley started his career with Sheetz in 1983 as a part-time employee working the third shift. He was eventually became a store manager, training manager, district manager and director of regional operations. Woodley has played a significant role in the creation of key foodservice programs.
"Dave embodies every quality of a strong leader," said Louie Sheetz. "He has an incredible work ethic and a keen sense of how this business operates. People across the company have his trust and respect. It's been a privilege to watch him develop."
Louie Sheetz, the youngest brother of founder Bob Sheetz, started working for his family's business in 1977. Over the years, he served in various leadership positions for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, and has made impactful contributions through his advisory board work with major consumer packaged goods companies.
The 460 Sheetz stores are located throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina and generate annual sales of $6.6 billion.
