  • Potomac Mills to expand footprint

    Woodbridge, Va. -- Indianapolis-based The Mills, a Simon Property Group company, said that Potomac Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in Virginia, will soon expand its footprint with the addition of an exterior transformation and two new restaurants: The Cheesecake Factory and Bobby’s Burger Palace.

    The project also includes the relocation of Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and the introduction of Buybuy Baby and Christmas Tree Shops.

  • Subway plans 1,200 stores for 2012, making deals at RECon

    Milford, Conn. -- Sandwich mega-chain Subway said Friday that it has set 2012 development goals of 1,200 North American locations and, toward that end, said a large contingent of company representatives will be in attendance at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ RECon event in Las Vegas, May 20-23.

  • Tucker Development brings new tenant to Yorkville Marketplace

    Yorkville, Ill. -- Tucker Development Corp. said that Athens Gyros & Kebabs will open a location at Yorkville Marketplace, located in Yorkville, Ill.

    The Middle Eastern restaurant signed a lease to occupy a 1,258-sq.-ft. space within the 145,000-sq.-ft. shopping center anchored by Jewel-Osco and OfficeMax.

  • Hooters to debut in Ventura County

    Thousand Oaks, Calif. -- NewMark Merrill Cos. announced the May 13 opening of the first Hooters Restaurant in Ventura County at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

    The new 5,700-sq.-ft. restaurant is located near Burlington Coat Factory and features seating for 230 guests. 

    Hooters is the newest tenant to join Regency Theaters, Toys “R” Us, Old Navy, Marshall’s, Buca di Beppo, Panera Bread, Burlington Coat Factory and other national, regional and community tenants at Janss Marketplace. 

  • Smashburger to open location in Mamaroneck, N.Y.

    Mamaroneck, N.Y. -- Charter Realty & Development said that it has arranged a 2,400-sq.-ft. lease for Smashburger in Mamaroneck, N.Y., within walking distance of the Metro-North train station.

    Peter Levine of Charter Realty & Development represents Smashburger in Westchester, Fairfield, New Haven and Hartford Counties.
     

  • Red Mango to open new New Jersey outlet

    Hoboken, N.J. -- Metro Commercial Real Estate said that it has negotiated a 1,350-sq.-ft. lease in downtown Hoboken, N.J., for frozen yogurt purveyor Red Mango.

    The urban storefront, located in a former pizza space, is slated to open this summer.

  • Winick relocates Blend restaurant

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said that Latin Fusion restaurant Blend has signed a lease for 4,284 sq. ft. in Long Island City.

    The restaurant is situated at the base of a newly constructed luxury rental building, part of a waterfront residential complex constructed by developer TF Cornerstone.

  • YoGo Factory opens at CooperTowne Center, 22 locations on tap

    Somerdale, N.J. -- Purchase, N.Y.-based National Realty & Development Corp. said that YoGo Factory opened at CooperTowne Center in April.

    The 366,865-sq.-ft. shopping center is located 10 miles from Philadelphia and is anchored by Walmart Supercenter, Cinemark 16-screen theater and LA Fitness.

    YoGo Factory is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop with seven locations open in southern New Jersey and an additional 22 stores opening in the coming months.
