  • McDonald’s net income dips in Q1

    Oak Brook, Ill. – McDonald’s Corp. reported net income of $1.2 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2014, a 5.5% decline from $1.27 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. Total revenues grew 1% to $6.7 billion, from $6.2 billion.

  • Arby’s signs multiple franchise agreements

    Atlanta - Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. (ARG), franchisor of Arby’s, has signed development agreements with new and existing franchisees. ARG recently sold 14 company-operated restaurants in Tampa, Fla., to Mosaic Investments Inc., a fully integrated investment firm based in Atlanta. In addition to remodeling existing locations slated to commence at the end of 2014, Mosaic has committed to build 13 new Arby's restaurants in the Tampa area during the next nine years.

  • Steiner to lease Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, Ohio

    Columbus, Ohio — First Interstate Properties has named Steiner + Associates as the exclusive retail leasing agent for its 610,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

  • Domino’s accepts Google Wallet payments

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Domino's Pizza is integrating Google Wallet with its Android ordering app. Domino's customers who have an Android device can now pay for their online orders using Google's digital wallet.

    Domino's customers who place an online order of $10 or more using the Android ordering app and pay by selecting the "Buy with Google" button at checkout will receive a free order of Domino's new specialty chicken, now through June 15.

  • The Melting Pot plans North America expansion

    Tampa, Fla. - The Melting Pot Restaurants  plans to expand its footprint in select markets throughout the U.S., and Canada. Domestically, the company is looking to recruit new franchisees in cities such as Anchorage, Alaska; Little Rock, Ark.; Fresno, Calif.; Hartford, Conn.; Des Moines, Iowa; New York City; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Charleston, S.C.; and Portland, Maine, as well as Houston and El Paso, Texas.

  • Pizza and frozen yogurt shops to Legends Outlets in Kansas City

    New York -- SweetFrog and Pizza Studio will open shops at Legends Outlets Kansas City in Kansas City, Kan., this spring and summer respectively. The locations will be the first in the Kansas City metropolitan area for both concepts.

    SweetFrog has leased a 1,588-sq.-ft. space. The frozen yogurt franchise invites customers to make their own soft-serve creations, choosing from an array of flavors and toppings.

  • Chipotle to raise prices for first time in three years

    Denver -- Chipotle Mexican Grill said it will hike prices for the first time in three years, saying that customer loyalty will insulate the chain from pricing fallout.

    New menu boards reflecting the 3%-5% higher prices will be in place at all restaurants by this summer, said Chipotle.

  • Post Holdings acquires Michael Foods

    Post Holdings plans to acquire Michael Foods and its related entities for $2.45 billion. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2014, subject to customary closing conditions.

    Michael Foods is a leading packaged goods company providing value-added food products and service solutions to customers in the foodservice, retail and food ingredient channels. The company holds leading market positions in each of its three segments and produces a broad range of value-added egg products, potato products and cheese and dairy-case foods.
