  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans 46 new Indiana stores

    Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts is growing its presence in the Hoosier state. The company has signed multi-unit store development agreements with two existing franchise groups to develop 46 restaurants in Indiana during the next several years.  

  • Altamont Capital purchases Cotton Patch Café

    Grapevine, Texas – Private equity firm Altamont Capital Partners has purchased specialty restaurant chain Cotton Patch Café, which operates 45 locations in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Kathy Nelson, CEO of Cotton Patch, participated in the investment and will continue in her role.

    Altamont Capital also holds major investments in franchisees of the Taco Bell and Sonic Drive-In fast-food chains. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • Shake Shack opens first Japan store in 2016

    New York - Together with its Japanese licensee Sazaby League Ltd., Shake Shack Inc. will open the first-ever Tokyo Shake Shack in 2016. Shake Shack and Sazaby League intend to open one store in Tokyo and 10 total stores in Japan through 2020.

  • Williams-Sonoma toasts culinary Team USA

    Williams-Sonoma is leveraging the brand equity of a renowned culinary competition, not to mention famed celebrity chef Thomas Keller, to attract more foodies to its stores.

    The retailer has been hosting events at stores across the country celebrating Team USA after its medal win at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or International Culinary Competition in January.

  • Carter’s, Osh Kosh B’Gosh to open at Towne Centre at Laurel

    Laurel, Md. -- Greenberg Gibbons announced that Carter’s and OshKosh B’Gosh are opening a combined store at Towne Centre at Laurel, the new $130 million destination on Route 1 in Laurel, Maryland.

    Carter’s and OshKosh B’Gosh will open a 7,077-sq.-ft. store in April 2015.  

  • Sonic Drive-In entering Rhode Island as it expands in Northeast

    Oklahoma City -- Sonic Drive-In announced two new agreements for franchise development in Rhode Island, the 45th state for the expanding brand. A mainstay in the South and Central Plains, the chain is aggressively expanding in the Northeast.

    The first new Sonic franchisee for Rhode Island will bring the state its first location in the Providence, Rhode Island, market in mid-2015, with plans for more down the line.

  • TGI Fridays names two digital marketing agencies

    Carrollton, Texas - In a move designed to offer its guests a more enhanced, robust and personalized experience both inside and outside of the restaurant, TGI Fridays has selected two new agencies – Made Movement (Made) and Meredith Xcelerated Marketing (MXM) – to manage all future digital marketing, e-mail and technology campaigns.

  • Westfield MainPlace to add two new restaurants in fall 2015

    Santa Ana, Calif. -- As part of Westfield MainPlace’s redevelopment plan, the Santa Ana, California, center announced two new dining destinations: Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que and Wokcano. Slated to debut late summer/early fall 2015, these announcements come on the heels of three recent restaurant openings: Panini Café (December 2014), Dog Haus and Blaze Pizza (both November 2014).
