  • Report: Restaurants remain leading job creator in 2015

    Washington, D.C. -- Restaurants will remain the nation’s hottest hirer this year.  An annual report by the National Restaurant Association indicated that, as it has for the last 16 years, the restaurant industry employment will outpace employment growth in 2015.

  • Five new tenants to open at Northville Park Place

    Livonia, Mich. -- Schostak Brothers & Company has completed leases for five new tenants at its Northville Park Place property, located in Northville, Michigan.

    A joint venture between Schostak Brothers & Company and REI Investment Group, the 65,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use development is set to welcome: Tom + Chee grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurant; Red Olive restaurant; Sports Clips; Gazelle Sports; and MOD Pizza.

  • Domino’s launches order tracker for Samsung SmartTV

    Ann Arber, Mich. – Domino’s Pizza is launching its Domino’s Tracker digital order tracker for Samsung Smart TV. Domino's customers who have a Samsung Smart TV can track their order each step of the way, from the time it is taken, to when it is put in the oven and sent out for delivery.

    This marks the first time that Domino's Tracker is available on any television platform. In order to use the tracking feature, customers must have a 2014 or newer Samsung Smart TV.

  • Target cooks up a coffee range with Batali

    Target already has famous TV chef GIada De Laurentis selling her products on its shelves, but the retailer is teaming up with another celebrity foodie for a new product line.

    The company said it is launching a Mario Batali coffee range. Caffé Italiano, a collection of Italian-style coffees, will sell at select Target stores nationwide and online at www.target.com. The coffee is a product of a unique collaboration between Batali and Todd Carmichael, founder and CEO of La Colombe, world-renowned specialty coffee roaster.

  • Epson grows mPOS receipt printer lineup to meet the needs of mobile POS

    Long Beach, Calif. – Epson has announced the addition of two new printers to the company's growing lineup of out-of-the-box ready solutions for mobile POS (mPOS) devices. Epson's cost-effective TM-T20II and its under-the-counter TM-T70II are MFi (Made for iOS) compliant with Bluetooth and equipped with simple WiFi setup capability.

  • NRF: Super Bowl spending on the rise

    Washington, D.C. – An estimated 184 million viewers will watch Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, Feb. 1. According to NRF’s Super Bowl Spending Survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, average viewer spending will reach a survey high of $77.88, up from $68.27 in 2013.

    Total spending is expected to reach $14.3 billion. Young adults ages 18-24 plan on spending an average of $95.92; those ages 25-34 and 35-44, however, will spend slightly more at an average of $101.54 and $102.82, respectively.
