  • Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina selects Micros enterprise platform

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Salsarita's Fresh Cantina, a Mexican fast casual concept, has selected Micros Simphony Enterprise Solution for all corporate locations. In conjunction with Simphony POS, Salsarita's is deploying Micros Simphony's Reporting, Labor, Inventory, Loyalty, and Online Ordering modules.

  • Report: Sbarro files for bankruptcy

    Melville, N.Y. – Sbarro LLC has reportedly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time since 2011. According to Reuters, Sbarro wants to reduce its debt by 80% via a pre-packaged reorganization that would allow it to exit bankruptcy before May 7, 2014.

    Most of Sbarro’s creditors reportedly support the plan, which it said is necessitated by declining mall traffic and an unsustainable balance sheet. The plan requires court approval and Sbarro will reportedly also seek better offers from potential buyers.

  • Crunch Fitness: Eight-plus locations for Dallas

    Dallas — Crunch Fitness is coming to Texas. Dallas entrepreneur, author and founder of Planet Tan, Tony Hartl plans to roll out eight to 10 Crunch Fitness locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area by 2016.

  • Domino’s plans Paraguay expansion

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Domino's Pizza is opening its first store in Paraguay. Grupo Vierci, master franchisee for Domino’s Pizza Paraguay, plans to open three new stores in the Asuncion area of the country by the end of May 2014.

  • Pizza Hut plans interactive tables

    Plano, Texas – Pizza Hut is planning to pilot interactive tables that allow customers to design their pizzas using a touch-screen table surface that graphically displays different menu options like a tablet. In a short online video, Pizza Hut shows a couple interacting with a tabletop to pick their pizza’s size and ingredients.

    Fort Worth, Texas — Trademark Property Co. will oversee management, retail leasing and redevelopment analysis for The Shops at Highland Village, a 351,631-sq.-ft. open-air retail center in Highland Village, Texas, serving affluent communities in southern Denton County.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans 46 new restaurants in California

    Canton, Mass. — Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with Sizzling Donuts, an existing franchise group, for 46 new restaurants throughout the greater Sacramento, Calif., metro area and the surrounding cities of Stockton, Modesto, Tracy, Manteca, Placerville and Davis.

  • Corner Bakery Café to enter Indianapolis

    Dallas -- Corner Bakery Café has signed a new multi-unit development agreement to open its first restaurants in Indianapolis beginning later this year and the remaining sites over the next six years.
