Holiday extravaganza returns to Instacart

For the second year in a row, Instacart is running a special seven-day holiday promotion.

Through Monday, Dec. 23, Instacart said in an email to Chain Store Age it is hosting it second annual “Tis a Big Deal Week” (also referred to as Deal Week). Initially introduced in December 2023, Deal Week offers savings up to 25% off on a range of items from participating retailer partners including Sephora, Best Buy, The Home Depot. Kohl’s, Petco, and JD Sports, with same-day delivery.

To access the savings, customers can visit the dedicated section of the Instacart site, select a participating retailer, fill their cart and go to checkout, where they will see various deals with up to 25% in savings.

Customers can cut the cost of their entire order, with applicable order minimums and maximums and some product exclusions and terms applying.  

In addition to Holiday Deal Week, Instacart is providing a holiday gift guide destination on its app which allows customers to shop for gifts for loved ones with delivery in as fast as an hour.

Instacart also recently launched a new temporary holiday perk for members of the Instacart+ program called Express Lane, providing $0 delivery minimums on grocery and retail orders of only $10, instead of the normal $35.

Instacart+ typically offers unlimited free delivery frees for orders more than $35, among other benefits, at a standard flat cost of $99 per year or $9.99 per month. 

Express Lane has launched in the Instacart app and on the Instacart website for all Instacart+ members and will be available for a limited time until Dec. 31, 2024.

"You can skip the run to the store and save on eligible items including anything from skincare and gaming devices to kitchen supplies and something for Fido," an Instacart spokesperson said in the email. "Perfect for last-minute gift-givers, customers can “skip the ship” and save with same-day delivery through Instacart in as fast as one hour, ensuring gifts arrive in time for the holidays."

Based in San Francisco, Instacart partners with more than 1,500 national, regional, and local retail banners to facilitate online shopping, delivery and pickup services from more than 85,000 stores across North America.
