Freddy's adds 15 stores to pipeline; to enter new East Coast state

Headquartered in Kansas, Freddy's currently operates over 550 restaurants.

After adding dozens of new locations to its pipeline in 2024, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is starting off the new year by signing three new franchise deals.

The new deals will expand the burger chain’s presence across Nebraska, North Dakota and Maryland with 15 locations. Freddy's currently operates over 550 restaurants, with more than 130 locations in development for the next two years. The company has said that its goal is to reach 800 restaurants by 2026.

TR Hospitality will open three new Freddy's locations across Douglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska, further strengthening the brand's footprint in the Omaha area. Restaurant franchising veterans Kyle and Vicki Sedivec will develop seven new Freddy's locations in North Dakota. Finally, new franchisee A2SI Group, LLC will open Maryland's first Freddy's restaurants with a five-unit deal, bringing locations to Prince George’s County.

The chain is known for cooked-to-order steakburgers, shoestring fries, freshly churned frozen custard treats and more. Amid its expansion across the country, Freddy’s opened its new Training & Innovation Center last year, which features “cutting-edge” equipment and technology and simulated back-of-house restaurant, allowing the facility to be home to virtual training sessions, on-site product testing and consumer focus groups.

Founded in 2002 and based in Wichita, Kans., Freddy’s operates over 550 locations across 36 states nationwide.
