Canadian pet retailer Pet Valu offers delivery via Instacart
A leading specialty retailer of pet food and pet-related supplies in Canada is now offering same-day delivery in as fast as one hour.
Pet Valu is exclusively making same-day delivery from its more than 600 locations across the country available via Instacart. The service is available from all Pet Valu banners, including Pet Valu, Bosley’s by Pet Valu, Paulmac's, Total Pet and Tisol, through the Instacart app or website.
The retailer has adding more than 500 stores to the 100 locations it initially rolled out for same-day delivery earlier this year in the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia.
“At Pet Valu, we’re committed to creating seamless shopping experiences for our devoted pet lovers so they can spend more quality time with their pets,” said Tanbir Grover, chief digital and marketing officer at Pet Valu. “Joining forces with Instacart allows us to expand our availability through a new channel, its customers and bring our large selection of high-quality pet goods to more pet parents across Canada, while providing the convenience of same-day delivery.”
Instacart expands presence in Canada
Pet Valu joins over 90 other retail banners in Canada that deliver from more than 6,000 locations across all 10 provinces that are available for same-day delivery on the Instacart marketplace. These include the Canadian banner of Amazon’s Whole Foods Market natural and organic foods grocery chain, which began offering fast delivery from select stores via Instacart in February 2024.
Meanwhile, Walmart Canada has been offering customers online delivery via Instacart since 2018 and in 2022 launched Walmart Now, the first virtual convenience store available in Canada, which offers an assortment of close to 4,000 items, including apparel basics, toys, personal care, and house cleaning essentials, picked and delivered from 10 existing Walmart Canada locations in as fast as 30 minutes by Instacart.
Canadian grocery conglomerate Empire Company Ltd. also recently began making a number of its banners available on the Instacart app for same-day delivery in as fast as an hour.
