DoorDash moves into new verticals
Founded in 2013 as an on-demand delivery service for restaurants, DoorDash offers deliveries in more than 25 countries in a continually expanding selection of retail verticals.
One recent example is a partnership for on-demand, two-hour delivery of mattresses and bedding accessories from its more than 2,300 Mattress Firm store locations across the U.S. launched in August 2024.

Summer 2024 also saw DoorDash begin offering same-day delivery for online orders from Missouri-based discount grocer Save A Lot, as well as expand its alcohol delivery offering and start providing direct order and delivery of products from sporting goods retailer Academy Sports & Outdoors directly from the DoorDash app.
As of June 2024, DoorDash says it has more than 115,000 non-restaurant stores on its marketplace in North America (June 2024), including beauty, retail and grocery stores.
