Gopuff develops ‘shopping genius’ for app with SpaceXAI

A Philadelphia-based consumer delivery service is teaming with an Elon Musk-affiliated artificial intelligence company.

Gopuff is collaborating with SpaceXAI to launch "Go," which the on-demand delivery provider calls a first-of-its-kind "shopping genius" built for its app. 

Go combines advanced reasoning, voice and image generation models with Gopuff’s 13-year dataset of hundreds of millions of orders and real-time cultural signals from the Elon Musk-owned X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter). SpaceXAI is owned by spaceflight company SpaceX, in which Musk is the largest shareholder with a roughly 42% stake.

Go prepares a suggested cart the moment a customer opens the app. It learns each shopper’s shopping habits and automatically builds a personalized cart based on time of day, location, order history, and real-time indicators. Returning customers can check out with a single tap if they approve of the suggested cart. 

According to Gopuff, the Go experience provides a visual, TikTok-style shoppable feed. A custom Grok Imagine AI model generates hyper-personalized product moments that display items in context in a neffort to help customers discover new items, make selections and check out in seconds. 

For example, if a big game is happening in a customer’s city, wings and drinks may appear in a living room scene. On a snowy afternoon, the screen may fill with hot chocolate and cold-weather essentials. Every collection is designed to be visually engaging, relevant and instantly shoppable, allowing users to add an entire set or swap an item with one tap. 

Grok voice integration enables customers to talk or type to Go like a human using conversational language. Go provides shoppable products directly within the chat to enable customers can build their cart in real time, with voice commerce capabilities allowing shoppers to ask, adjust, and check out hands-free.

Gopuff is rolling out Go for its app following the fall 2025 introduction of a new a new digital commerce experience it says creates a personalized storefront tailored to each individual customer’s life, location and habits.
