First Look: Pop Mart opens first Texas store with two more on the way
Pop Mart has opened its first store in America’s second-largest state.
The Asian toy and collectibles brand has opened its first store in Texas, at the Stonebriar Centre shopping mall in Frisco, a northern suburb in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The Frisco location marked Pop Mart’s 13th brick-and-mortar store in the United States, following openings earlier this year in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Pop Mart says it plans to open two more locations in the Lone Star State in the near future. The brand opened its first store in the U.S. last September at American Dream, the massive three million sq.-ft.-plus entertainment and retail center in East Rutherford, N.J.
“The new store allows Pop Mart to bring our unique retail experience to Texas and create a space where fans can discover new and exciting collectibles, connect with like-minded individuals, and unleash their inner creativity,” said Larry Lu, head of Pop Mart North America. “With two Houston locations in the pipeline, we are eager to continue growing our Texas presence and engage with our loyal fans and collectors across the country.”
Visitors at the new location can expect an “immersive environment” that showcases Pop Mart’s collectible characters, including Molly, Hirono, The Monsters, Skullpanda and more. The store held a grand opening event on Aug. 31, where guests were able to check out Frisco-exclusive products including the Peach Riot Frankie-Virtues Figurine, the Peach Riot Gigi-Dark Angel Figurine and the Peach Riot Poppy-Seraphim Figurine.
