Miniso opens Paris flagship; eyes 1,000 new stores in 2024

Miniso is continuing to roll out stores in high-profile locations – this time opening its newest flagship in one of Europe’s biggest cities.

The Chinese-based value retailer celebrated the grand opening of its new store in Paris on June 22. Located on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, Miniso’s latest store is within one of the city’s largest shopping districts and tourist-friendly areas. 

Miniso added that its goal is to become a “global super brand”, and it plans to achieve this by opening between 900 and 1,100 new stores globally in 2024, with over 50% of the new stores to be located overseas (outside of mainland China). 

The Paris flagship continues Miniso’s “Super Store” strategy of establishing large-format stores in key, high-traffic areas. These locations showcase the brand's extensive product range across categories like household goods, cosmetics, stationery and more. The new flagship, which sprawls across two floors and over 8,600 sq. ft., also highlights Miniso’s IP collaboration collections with Sanrio, Disney, Barbie and others. On its opening day, the store achieved a new Miniso record for single-day sales outside of China.

"Following the successful launch of Super Stores in Times Square and Oxford Street, this prestigious Parisian location further solidifies our commitment to the 'Super Store' strategy and its role in elevating the customer experience and propelling our global brand recognition."

The Paris launch follows key openings for the brand in the United States. Miniso recently announced plans to open a third New York City location in Manhattan’s Financial District, and in April, the company said it would open its first-ever U.S. flagship store inspired by the intellectual property of Sanrio at the massive American Dream mall in East Rutherford, N.J.

Prior, Miniso announced plans with CBL Properties to expand into 13 malls across the country, 12 of which being new markets. 

With the addition of the Paris flagship, Miniso now has a presence in 110 overseas markets, with 6,630 stores worldwide. As of March 31, 2024, the brand operated 191 stores in North America.
