The Louvre draws approximately 10 million visitors annually.

Pop Mart has opened its newest location in a unique venue: one of the world’s most famous museums.

The new Pop Mart store opened in the Louvre on July 27, marking the Asian toy and collectibles brand’s first entrance into an art-gallery style retail format. It is Pop Mart’s second location in France as the brand continues to expand in Europe with recent July openings in Milan and Amsterdam.

Inside the famed Paris museum, which draws approximately 10 million visitors annually, Pop Mart guests are greeted by a merging of “classical and modern design with a sleek monochrome palette and French architectural elements.”

Pop Mart specializes in creating character-based designer toys and collectibles in collaboration with renowned international designers and also collaborates with global entertainment powerhouses. The brand is also known for  its “blind" boxes, which features an assortment of items. The box can't be opened until after it has been purchased.

The new Louvre store features the return of several product series, as well as exclusive releases. Xiong Miao, the artist behind Skullpanda, one of Pop Mart’s most popular brands, made her debut visit to Europe and engaged in the first Pop Mart fan signing in France the day after the store officially opened, adding a personal touch to the store's launch.

The brand made its European debut in London in 2022. In 2023, international markets (outside of China) accounted for 1.066 billion RMB in revenue, a 134.9% increase from the previous year.

"Opening our store at the Louvre is a significant milestone, enhancing Pop Mart's global stature and credibility,” said Wang Ning, founder and CEO of Pop Mart. “Recognition from the Louvre supports our European expansion."
