One of England’s most popular soccer clubs has opened a pop-up store at an iconic American location.

Ahead of the Premier League club’s pre-season visit to the United States this summer, Manchester City has announced the opening of a new City Store at New York City’s Rockefeller Center. The pop-up store will officially open from June 1 and run until Sept. 22, offering fans in the U.S. access to the club’s apparel including Puma kit collections, a jersey personalization station, and exclusive merchandise.

The new store is the latest expansion of the club’s global retail offering following the opening of additional City Stores at the Manchester Arndale shopping center in Manchester, England and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi as part of the “City Challenge” experience. Manchester City has worked with retail partner Stichd to open and operate all of its stores, also including the City Store at its home field, Etihad Stadium.

“We are very excited to announce the launch of our brand new store in the heart of New York City, marking another huge milestone for our global retail offering,” said Serena Gosling, director of integrated fan experience and retail & licensing at Manchester City. “The U.S. market continues to provide exciting opportunities for Manchester City to grow and we’ve experienced an increase in engagement and support from the region over the past few years across a number of areas, including a 48% uplift in sales from our online City Store this season."

Further activity to celebrate the pop-up store opening will also take place this summer when Manchester City men’s team visits the U.S. on preseason tour for four events across the country, including a match against AC Milan at Yankee Stadium.

“Stichd is delighted to be partnering on this exciting new project in New York,” said Pete Emerick, licensing manager for Stichd Football. “We look forward to working with Man City and delivering a fantastic experience for the fans and look forward to further activations this summer within the store as part of the club’s visit to New York as part of its wider preseason tour.”

Last year, another famous European soccer club expanded in the New York City retail space. French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain and its partners, Fanatics and Lids, moved its club store to a larger, more premium location on Fifth Avenue from a previous, smaller location.

Founded in 1880, Manchester City F.C. has won 10 Premier League titles, including four consecutively from 2020-2021 to 2023–24.
