eBay is updating its search experience.

eBay has released a new search interface intended to provide a more seamless and visually rich user experience.

The e-commerce retailer says it performed 18 months of user research and testing to develop its new search interface, with features including larger, high-resolution images, a modernized layout, and streamlined navigation.

Highlights of the revamped eBay search experience include:

Updated interface
The search page has been redesigned with larger product images and streamlined menu buttons in an effort to simplify navigation and decision-making.

High-resolution listing images
eBay search now delivers high-resolution images that are larger in size.

Shopping view
A new “shopping view” replaces the previous gallery view, offering a full-width search display with larger images without sidebar ads.

Navigation and filters
The navigation panel and top-of-page filters now feature redesigned drop-down menus designed to make the browsing experience more intuitive.

Information layout
eBay has reorganized the presentation of listings with rounded image corners, uniform image sizes, and consistent font styles in an effort to offer a more cohesive and clear product display.

Centralized delivery and shipping options
All delivery and shipping options are now located in one place, with a streamlined process for updating shipping locations.

Interactive price graph
The price filter now includes an interactive graph, allowing users to more easily adjust their price range with a visual representation of price distribution within search results.

eBay also recently rolled out “Shop the look,” a search tool based on generative AI that provides an immersive carousel of suggested outfits, tailored to customers’ shopping history. The feature includes interactive hotspots that reveal similar new and pre-owned apparel and luxury items that can be combined into outfits.

"eBay will continue to refine the search experience, leveraging AI and machine learning to present relevant information, listing benefits, and seller details," Prerna Dubey, director of product, search and discovery, Avital Derazon, senior product manager, search experience and Harshal Parikh, senior product manager, eBay, said in a corporate blog post. "These advancements aim to foster a more engaging, effective, and trustworthy environment for both buyers and sellers."
