CVS enlists new same-day delivery partner
CVS Pharmacy is adding a new third-party option for customers seeking same-day delivery.
The drugstore giant, which already partners with Shipt and DoorDash to offer same-day delivery, is now collaborating with Grubhub to offer an assortment of thousands of wellness, beauty, household and other convenience items on the Grubhub Marketplace.
More than 6,000 CVS locations are available on Grubhub across 48 states. Customers who are members of the Grubhub+ paid membership service will have access to $0 delivery fees on eligible orders from CVS Pharmacy.
From Saturday, March 9 to Wednesday, March 13, customers who order from CVS Pharmacy on Grubhub can get a free item from an assortment of "Daylight Saving Essentials" with delivery orders of $20 or more. Daylight Saving Essentials is a special menu category from CVS on Grubhub featuring products such as coffee, protein bars, tea, and supplements. The discount will automatically be applied at checkout.
CVS delivers in a variety of ways
CVS also recently began offering same-day delivery of nearly all products in the store in as little as three hours for paid members of its ExtraCare Plus program. In addition, the retailer participates in DoorDash DashMart, which offers online storefronts stocked with household essentials and restaurant products provided by local retailers for on-demand delivery. DashMart stores are owned, operated, and curated by DoorDash.
Meanwhile, Grubhub also provides same-day delivery from convenience and drugstore retailers GoPuff, Rite Aid and 7-Eleven.

Headquartered in Woonsocket, R.I., CVS Health operated 9,406 CVS Pharmacy stores across the U.S. as of Jan. 22, 2024.
Based in Chicago, Grubhub is part of Just Eat Takeaway.com, a U.S. food ordering and delivery marketplace, and features more than 365,000 restaurant partners in over 4,000 U.S. cities.
