He also held CIO positions at Guitar Center, Big Lots, Limited Inc., and Victoria's Secret Stores.

    Petco has named William Engen senior VP of retail market expansion, a newly created role dedicated to optimizing the company’s investments in store growth.    Engen, who joins Petco from Wingstop Restaurants, where he served as COO, will be in charge of real estate, construction, and store design. He previously served in senior operations roles at 7-Eleven and Circuit City.  
  • Wingstop to open 14 new restaurants in Chicago

    Richardson, Texas -- Wingstop said Wednesday that it has signed two development agreements that will result in 14 new restaurants in the Chicago area.

    The multi-unit development agreements include a three-store deal with an existing franchise group and an 11-store deal with Chicagoland Wing Kings.

    “We expect to double our presence in the area over the next two to three years," said Bev Rich, senior director of franchise development, Wingstop.

    Wingstop currently has 19 restaurants in the Chicago area.

  • Wingstop to add 20 locations in Atlanta market

    Richardson, Texas -- Wingstop has announced plans to aggressively expand its presence in the Atlanta area. The fast-growing national chicken wing chain plans to add 20 additional locations in Atlanta over the next several years.

    The expansion effort begins with an Atlanta open house April 20-21 where franchise candidates will have an opportunity to learn about Wingstop's plans and meet one-on-one with company executives.

    Wingstop has 480 locations throughout the United States and Mexico.
